Digitalisation is transforming professional life, and a linear career is no longer the only way forward. What matters is a person’s desire to learn and their inherent motivation. intrinsic addresses this potential. With the support of the Migros Pioneer Fund, intrinsic and its «intrinsic Learning Lab» project explored the potential of open development in personal learning.
A companion on the learning path
In terms of methodology, the intrinsic Learning Lab provided guidance in three steps. The initial orientation phase served to define what is to be achieved. In the next step, the learning path – supported by coaches and accompanied by an electronic portfolio – was pursued and constantly reflected upon. Dialogue with other participants also helped in this process. Later, the lessons learned were embedded within another context: the participants presented the knowledge they had acquired – and were able to identify their skills.
This created alternative career development paths across traditional industries and structures. Everyone can benefit from this structural freedom and contribute their expertise to society.
