conTAKT-museum.ch: The museum as a place of coming together

The idea behind conTAKT-museum.ch is simple: Swiss museums facilitate the coming-together of people with and without a refugee background, thereby creating a space where all are welcome and all are equals. Project conTAKT-museum.ch assists museums with the conception, planning and execution of such events.

Affirmative experiences in the museum

Certain factors have proven to be very effective in boosting the resilience of people living in difficult circumstances. It particularly helps people if they feel that their words and deeds are having an effect on others. They develop an understanding for the course their own life is taking and come together with other people who show interest and offer assistance.

Social integration for refugees

Taking a humorous approach to stressful and challenging circumstances is another good way to help maintain one's own inner strength, or build it up again. Refugees can benefit from many positive experiences through conTAKT-museum.ch: in this way they get support with coming to terms with their own problematic past and their frequently difficult new way of life.
