Promoting culture with games@museums

A chair set up as an exhibit, standing on a base in a museum, with a touch screen in front of it.

Murder, flirting and blows from a hammer – who would expect to find this at a museum?

The games@museums pioneering project has an unconventional approach to inspiring fresh faces to visit museums. Visitors can play digital games to interactively experience art within permanent exhibitions and collections. With this new and surprising angle, visitors see the exhibits with a new light.

Unconventional ways of fostering arts and culture

For this collaborative project, made possible by the Migros Pioneer fund, students created digital game ideas for museums. The aim is to test out a new direction in showing art and culture, and to foster collaboration between museums, universities and games developers.
